Unload the Weights

I was told a story by a mobile home mover that said that they tried to move a mobile home once that wouldn’t budge. He asked the owner if the house was empty and he said all but my daughter’s clothes. (The owner had 7 daughters).

Once they hauled multiple truckloads off they were able to pull the mobile home. Imagine that, something that seems so insignificant, but still had the weight to keep them from moving.

We can do this in our walk with God. We can accumulate things, even if not sinful they may be weights. They may be something that just keeps us from moving forward. We may be moving slowly or we may actually be stuck in our tracks.

It is important that we pay attention to what we have in our lives, even if it seems insignificant. Let’s ask Jesus if we have anything in our lives that is hindering our forward movement and get rid of it.

Hebrews 12:1-2 KJV 1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
