I had made plans to mow on my next day off work which was a Friday. I had checked the forecast and it was calling for rain Friday evening. So I was going to get up early and mow. Thursday evening I was sitting at home and I looked at my wife and asked, “was that thunder?” It was thunder and then it was rain. Not deterred, I got up early the next morning. I thought maybe I could still mow. Guess what, it was still raining. So I didn’t get to mow like I had planned.
Sometimes storms blow into our lives unexpectedly and disrupt our plans. We lay every detail out, then the storm hits. Storms can catch us off guard and leave us confused at times. We may look at those around us and ask, is this really happening? The storms may mess up our plans. They may even leave us disoriented. This is where trust comes in. If we have committed our life to God, then we must trust Him even in the storms.
When it starts storming outside in the natural we shift our work inside. We should look inside during spiritual storms and see what we need to work on.
Don’t get discouraged during the storm and lose hope during the storms of life. The sun will rise again. Jesus can calm your storm, but into He does let Him calm you.
Psalm 107:28-29 KJV 28 Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses. 29 He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.
