To Be Determined

The industrial site that I work at long ago before the plant site was built had to determine where to put it. They final decided on a parcel of land in Louisiana. They began to get everything in order. Then they ran into a snag. Those that were supposed to have inherited it had never laid claim to it. Thus a search for all the heirs began. They had it all ready except for one heir that they could not find. Finally they found them all the way over in California. Everything got straightened out and the rest as they say is history. These people were pre determined to be heirs from being in the family connected to this piece of land. They could turn down their inheritance if they’d want. That didn’t change that it was their right originally to inherit.

Ephesians 1:5 KJV Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will.

Ephesians 1:11 KJV In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will.

Many would see this and say that some are predestined to be adopted or saved and some are not. That’s not at all what it’s saying. We’re all predestined to be saved/adopted, but not all will accept it. You see it talks about inheritance here. Just like the above example if you are born into a family or adopted you are at that point predestinated to receive an inheritance from your parents/grandparents or testator. You have to accept the inheritance though. You could turn it down. Some don’t even know they are connected to an inheritance. This is why we must tell people about the Gospel, because many do not know that they are predestinated to inherit the Kingdom. For the Lord is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9 KJV). If God doesn’t want any to perish and all to come to repentance then He is not sorting out people. No it is our choices that determine this. That is why He commands that all people everywhere should repent (Act 17:30 WEB). God wants everyone to receive the inheritance of which He is the testator.

Hebrews 9:14-17 KJV 14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? 15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance. 16 For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. 17 For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.

Jesus was the testator of our salvation. His blood paid the price so that we can receive salvation. No one is excluded from being invited. So don’t write yourself or anyone else off. Accept the inheritance that Jesus has freely given, the salvation of your soul.

Titus 2:11 BBE For the grace of God has come, giving salvation to all men.
