I do love going on vacation. I enjoy the time with my family, seeing the sights and gaining new experiences. What I don’t like is sitting in a vehicle for hours on end. I do not like traffic, especially in big cities, nor do I like road construction. I don’t like delays, I like getting to where I’m going. I often have to remind myself to enjoy the journey.
In our travels in this life we are going to run into things that we do and do not like, just like traveling on vacation. There may be twists, turns, stops, traffic jams, etc. It may get uncomfortable at times. We may get tired of waiting to reach the next rest stop or destination in our journey. The journey is our life though. With every wrong turn, delay, and storm we endure.
Let’s not get so caught up in where we want to be that we forget to enjoy the place God has us right now. Whether we are waiting or walking, in the valley or the mountain top, in smooth sailing or a storm. It’s all part of our journey, it’s part of our testimony. So you may be in an undesirable place in your journey, but if you look around you can still see God in it. This is enough to help us enjoy our journey.
Isaiah 40:31 NKJV
“But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.”
