Take It Or Leave It

I was having a conversation with a friend about different foods that we liked or disliked. I brought up chicken and dumplings. I told him I could eat them or not. It’s not a food that I would just seek out in a potluck dinner. I could take it or leave it as they say.

We all have something that we may have a take it or leave it attitude towards. It may be a type of food, drink or even activity. The truth is that is not a problem because we all have our likes and dislikes. The problem arises when we have a take it or leave it attitude towards Jesus.

If we live carelessly in life with little to no thought of Jesus through our day. If we can talk about the weather, the news, work, etc., but not spend much of our time talking about or to our Creator and Savior. If we have things that we absolutely have to do. We have to have our coffee, watch our TV show, do this or that, whatever it may be. But spending time with Jesus is a take it or leave it thing.

We should strive to make Jesus the center of our lives. So today, spend some time talking about Jesus and to Jesus, read some Bible, go to church and participate. Remember Jesus loved us enough to give His life for us, we should love Him enough to live for Him.

Deuteronomy 6:5-9 ISV 5 You are to love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. 6 Let these words that I’m commanding you today be always on your heart. 7 Teach them repeatedly to your children. Talk about them while sitting in your house or walking on the road, and as you lie down or get up. 8 Tie them as reminders on your forearm, bind them on your forehead, 9 and write them on the door frames of your house and on your gates.”6:6-9 ISV 6 Let these words that I’m commanding you today be always on your heart. 7 Teach them repeatedly to your children.
