There are 4 seasons recognized on the calendar. Spring, summer, autumn and winter are these seasons. Each one has its differences. They each have their own beautiful sights. Plus they each come with their own set of challenges and problems.
There are other seasons, that we call them, that aren’t on the calendar. Rainy season isn’t an official season on the calendar, but when it rains a lot that’s what we call it. There are more that we deem seasons. Lovebug season if you live in Louisiana, pollen season, dry season, cold season (as in the common cold), etc. Just as the 4 seasons, they all have their differences.
The thing is though all seasons have one thing in common. They all change. That’s what seasons do. They don’t come to stay.
The Word of God talks about seasons.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 KJV 1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: 2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; 3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; 4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; 5 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; 6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; 7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; 8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
This short list of seasons of life can teach us a lot. If you notice, they are not all pleasant. Sometimes we encounter dark seasons of life that we would rather not endure. We can get worn down in these seasons and begin to wonder if they will ever end. Rest assured they will end and we can survive the season.
Though the cold of winter may chill us to our bones, we know spring is coming. Though the scorching heat of summer may wear us down, we know autumn is coming. If you find yourself in a tough season, be encouraged, it will not last forever.
Galatians 6:9 KJV And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
