Repurposed

I remember riding around with my old Daddy and him pointing out places that used to be this or that. He may say that it used to be a cotton field or that it was just a wooded area. Now it is a place of business or a collection of homes. Have you ever seen the transition of a piece of land over many years like this? I have many times. I’ve seen land grown up with so much brush and weeds that it looked like you couldn’t even walk through it. Then someone decided to repurpose it. They cleaned it up and removed things that didn’t need to be there. New things are put in place of the old things. Then one day when you pass by, it doesn’t even look the same. It may have a beautiful home or business there now. What looked worthless now looks priceless. 

Jesus can do the same thing in someone’s life. You may think, “I or they are too far gone. There is no repairing this.” You underestimate God. 

Let’s go all the way back to Genesis. It says that “the earth was without form and void” (which can be interpreted as empty.) Nothing, there was nothing. It was just empty space. God started with nothing and what did God do with nothing? Look around at all the magnificent things God created. 

You may be thinking that you have nothing to offer to God. You may feel empty and useless. Perfect! Give that to God and watch what He can do. He can turn your nothing into something amazing. He can turn your emptiness into full and overflowing. He can repurpose you. Don’t believe me? Look around and see what God made from nothing. 

Luke 1:37 KJV For with God nothing shall be impossible.
