Remodeling

Let’s say you built a house. You get everything designed and built just like you wanted. You live in this house for some time. Then, one day, you decide I need to paint this room, or knock out that wall and add another room, or remodel the bathroom. Just because you built it just like you wanted, doesn’t mean there won’t be changes that have to happen.

God is the God of all creation. He literally created everything. We believe this, but we look at that as past tense. The psalmist said create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me (Psalm 51:10 KJV). Why would he say this if He was done with creating? Why would he say renew me if things didn’t have to be changed after coming to God? Because renew means that he was made new at some point and now has reached a point that he needs to be made new again.

We come and go from the presence of the creator and never change. We aren’t letting Him create in us what He wants.

He wants to renew our mind (Romans 12:2), He wants to put His law in our hearts and our minds (Jeremiah 31:33, Hebrews 10:16).

So let us come open before our Creator to become what He would have us be.

Psalm 127:1 KJV Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it…

Philippians 1:6 KJV Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
