Read The Instructions

I once ordered a new recliner online for my wife and had it shipped to my house. I have bought many recliners and they generally come in 2 pieces. Those 2 pieces are the bottom and the back and all you have to do is slide them together and voila you’re done. No, not this one. This one was in about 8 pieces, not counting the mounting brackets and bolts. Well I don’t mind putting things together, I’ve done it many times. Unfortunately though there were no instructions to be found. So I get to looking and figuring. I get the chair nearly together and can’t find the remote to the heated/massaging seat. I told my wife maybe it’s on the bottom. So I lay it over and sure enough there it is with the instructions.

Now I’m sure that there are a few takeaways from this. What I would like to focus on is this one thing. As I mentioned before I have assembled a lot of things throughout my life. One thing about me is I always read the instructions before I put something together. Why? Well I don’t want to have to go back and redo it. I want the right bolt in the right place. I feel like because I have this experience it helped me assemble this recliner without reading the instructions.

Sometimes in life we may run into a situation where we don’t have time to go read our Bible and research something. We need to make a decision or need to speak a word right then. We must study the Word continually so that we may be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: (1 Peter 3:15).

2 Timothy 2:15 KJV Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
