Light Up The Darkness

Genesis 1:1-4 KJV 1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. 3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. 4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

I’ve often heard the question. Why is there evil, why is there darkness? Why does God allow it? There’s an old saying that says darkness doesn’t exist, just the absence of light. Just as evil is the absence of God. Notice God didn’t have to make darkness, it was already there. Just like we don’t have to be taught how to lie or cheat or steal. We have to be taught how to do good. It is our nature to sin. God made the light and then made a separation of the two.

We must separate ourselves from the darkness of this world. Because what fellowship does light have with darkness?(2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB). Therefore ‘‘Come out from among them, and be separate,” says the Lord (2 Corinthians 6:17 WEB). If we walk in the light as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son, cleanses us from all sin (1 John 1:7 WEB).

1 John 1:5 WEB This is the message which we have heard from him and announce to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

God is light and when God enters to where darkness is then there is no darkness. The same as when you flip a light switch on in a dark room. Darkness is gone. We should expose the dark parts of our lives to God. We need to continually bring God’s light to the darkness in this world because when God shows up darkness has to disperse.

John 8:12 KJV Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
