Interference

I once had a friend that had purchased a new aluminum phone case for his phone. He showed it to me with such excitement. He was very proud of his new acquisition. Shortly after showing it to me, he approached me and asked me to call his phone. So I called and his phone never rang. Apparently his new phone case was blocking his signal. He immediately pulled the case off of his phone as he was on call with his job and could not afford to miss a call.

We often invest time and money into mistakes in our lives. Once we realize that it was a mistake however we don’t always want to turn it loose. After all, we’ve put effort into it. We may have been proud of it. It may be interesting and attractive. If it interferes with your ability to hear God and your calling then it’s not worth it. You may have invested a lot into it, but what are you losing if you hold onto it? It’s like holding onto a bag of valuables while drowning. You’re afraid to lose your valuables, but you’ll lose your life if you don’t turn it loose. If it interferes with your walk with God, then cut it loose. Nothing that you turn loose of in order to improve your relationship with Jesus is a loss. So be like my friend and remove anything that stands between you and God immediately.

Matthew 16:26 KJV For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

Hebrews 12:1 NLT- Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.
