How Majestic

I was driving down a local road and saw something that you don’t see everyday, not in Louisiana at least. I saw a bald eagle take off in flight. It was really a beautiful sight.

It made me think of some of the things that we get to see in nature that are sights indeed to behold. From beautiful snowy mountains to the Grand Canyon. From Niagara Falls to the giant redwood forests. From beautiful wildlife in their natural setting to a breathtaking sunrise across a beautiful landscape. There are many sights and wonders that we get to see that are beautiful and yes even majestic. All these things testify of God’s majesty and glory. The heavens declare the glory of God; the sky displays his handiwork (Psalm 19:1 NET).

How do you put the God of all creation into words? As it says in Romans 11:33 (NET) Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how fathomless his ways! Or as it says in the King James his ways are past finding out!

We cannot understand or fathom His majesty.

John wrote: There are many other things that Jesus did. If every one of them were written down, I suppose the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written (John 21:25 NET).

If the things Jesus did while on earth would fill the earth with books. Think about how much more can be said or written about Him and all His glory?

I’ll put this thought in your mind. Have you ever read over a scripture that you had read many times and something new just jumps out at you? I have many times over. You see, we will continually be learning about the majesty and glory of God. I believe this will continue even in heaven.

Now you may think, what about the scripture that says we will see him just as he is (1 John 3:2 NET). Just because we see Him as He is, I do not believe we will still grasp His entirety. I may not be able to prove this by scripture, but I think we will spend eternity continually learning something new about God.

Why am I talking about this, what is the point? To declare His glory. To make us think about God every time we see something beautiful that He has created. To put in our minds to thank Him next time we see a beautiful skyline, a soaring bird, the mountain terrain and its beauty. To recognize God in all things and give Him adoration for it.

Psalm 29:1-4 NET 1 Acknowledge the LORD, you heavenly beings, acknowledge the LORD’s majesty and power! 2 Acknowledge the majesty of the LORD’s reputation! Worship the LORD in holy attire! 3 The LORD’s shout is heard over the water; the majestic God thunders, the LORD appears over the surging water. 4 The LORD’s shout is powerful, the LORD’s shout is majestic.
