I was sitting on my porch one morning just looking around and I looked up and saw the clouds moving. It just hit me, even though I can’t feel the wind is moving, and even though I don’t feel it the earth is moving. According to science the Earth spins at about a 1000 miles per hour, The winds at cloud height can be undetermined speeds. Even though we don’t feel the movement, there’s always movement. Quite honestly it’s best that we don’t feel everything that’s going on, it’s the stillness here on Earth that keeps us calm.
Likewise, just because we don’t see God working doesn’t mean that He isn’t. We too often rely on what we see and think nothing is happening. When we are actually supposed to walk by faith, not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7 KJV). It is often this stillness that keeps us at peace if we will let it, by trusting Him.
To quote a song :
Even when I don’t see it, You’re workin’
Even when I don’t feel it, You’re workin’
You never stop, You never stop workin.’
So know that God is always working and moving, trust Him in the stillness.
