From Failure To Accomplished

I was talking to a fella once that was telling me how he was a helper on one particular job. He was standing watching the boss that he was helping who was trying to find the center of a pipe and for some reason he couldn’t. He said the boss was getting visibly upset. Suddenly my friend accidentally poured his coffee on the pipe. He just knew that the boss was going to lose it. Instead though he thanked him. The coffee was dripping off of the bottom of the pipe showing him exactly where the center was. His boss was able to use his mistake to complete the task.

God can use our mistakes and our failures. Not sure about that? Look at the lineage of Christ. God used Judah’s failure with Tamar and David’s failure with Bathsheba. Not to mention all the others that failed. You see God used their failures and brought about His will in the birth of Jesus.

This means God can use your mistakes and failures too. I know that’s hard for you to believe. You’re probably thinking, “you don’t know what I’ve done. My failure is too bad, too big.” You do know David committed adultery with Bathsheba and had her husband killed don’t you? You see God can still accomplish what He wills. Even in our failures.

We read in Jeremiah 18:3-4 (KJV) Then I went down to the potter’s house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels. And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.

Sometimes we, our lives, our ministry are this clay. If we mess it up, it can still be fixed if we stay in the potter’s hands in the potter’s house. He may reshape us, but it will be what He wants.

So remember that God can still use you to accomplish something that He wants done. You have not been disqualified because you failed. If you have strayed because your shame has pushed you away from God then come back. Let Him do a work in your life. Arise, and go down to the potter’s house (Jeremiah 18:2 KJV).

Romans 8:28 Easy English God has good purposes for those people who love him. We know that. He uses everything that happens to them to bring good results on their behalf. He does this for those people that he has chosen. He has chosen his people to be what he wants them to be.
