Forgiveness is For Giving

We’ve all had to forgive someone at some point in time. Most of the time you have to forgive for some type of offense or misunderstanding. You may have to forgive someone that has already passed away or that you have absolutely no contact with. Then, sometimes you have to forgive someone that really didn’t do anything wrong, but you are still hurt or angry. Most of us never think about this one, but we still have to do it so that we can heal.

With that being said, and I know this may be controversial, you may find yourself in a position where you have to forgive God. I know some of you are probably saying in your head, “WHAT?” With some of you though, I just struck a chord. You’ve been mad at God for so long, and you are stuck right where you are. At some point something has happened, and you blame God for it. You may not have even realized how angry you were at God until this point, but now here you are. You’re at a crossroads staring it in the face. You may be thinking “I can’t,” but you can. Or “I don’t want to,” yet you have to. You’re cutting off the supply of your own forgiveness and you will struggle until you do forgive. So stop right now, take a deep breath, muster up all the strength you can and tell God that you forgive Him and feel free for the first time in a long time.

Matthew 6:14-15 KJV 14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: 15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
