Most of us have known someone that was in an abusive relationship that got out of it, then turned around and went right back. When this happens we all ask- “Why?” Why would you go back into that kind of relationship? You were mistreated, abused physically and/or emotionally. You escaped! Why would you go back? It all starts with communication; they start communicating with their abuser. Then, before you know it, they are back in the prison they escaped.
How many times do people get out of the world and start living for God just to turn and start dabbling in the world again. They start communicating with things we should be avoiding. They listen to, watch and hang around things they shouldn’t. Too many times it results in going back into captivity, to their old lives, and turning their backs on God. The same way the first doesn’t make sense the second doesn’t either. Make sure we aren’t communicating with the wrong things, but instead continually drawing near to God

2 Peter 2:20-22 KJV 20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. 21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. 22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.
