I heard my son Isaac ask someone a question. He asked, “Do you love Jesus?” This seems very cute coming from a 6 year old.
The thing is that it is a much deeper question than the typical question that some ask. That is: do you know Jesus? Because you can know Jesus and not love Him. You can know Jesus and not be in a committed relationship with him. Have you ever known someone that got in a relationship with the right person, that changed them for the better? They cleaned up their act, got a good job, and became a contributing member of society. This is what a relationship with Jesus will do.
If you love Jesus it changes who you are. Jesus said: If you love me, keep my commandments (John 14:15 WEB). Jesus said… “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind (Matthew 22:37 WEB).’
Are you in a committed relationship with Jesus? Do you keep His commandments? Do you love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind? Do you love Jesus?
This is an important question. It is something that you should ask yourself. It is something that as Jesus asked Peter I believe He asks each of us today. Jesus said….Do you love me (John 21:16)?
