DNR

For those that don’t know what DNR stands for do not resuscitate. This is a medical order instructing you to avoid CPR if your heart or breathing stops.

We need to put a DNR in place for the flesh or the old man as the Word calls it. As it says in 2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV) Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

When we start nursing the flesh back to life it will start manifesting in the little things first. If not handled it will get progressively worse. Soon our decisions are driven by what the flesh wants and the Kingdom of God doesn’t seem as important as it once did. We start getting offended easier because we have allowed the flesh to regain life. I will also say that when someone offends you don’t keep bringing it up. By continuously talking about it you are keeping the offense alive. Stop watering the root of bitterness and let it die.

We have to make sure though not to start nursing flesh back to life. Instead, put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh to arouse its desires (Romans 13:14 NET). We should put to death whatever in your nature belongs to the earth…(Colossians 3:5 NET).

The flesh needs to die. The old man and its desires has no place in the new man’s life. And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts (Galatians 5:24 KJV).

Colossians 3:1-3 NET 1 Therefore, if you have been raised with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Keep thinking about things above, not things on the earth, 3 for you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
