Count Your Blessing

I was having a conversation with my son Isaac after school one day. He was telling me about the school selling snacks and made the comment, “I know I can only get them once a week.” Because we had previously told him this. I told him what he didn’t understand is that he got a snack everyday. Because his Mama packs his lunch and he gets some type of snack in it everyday. Not to mention that he gets to have a special lunch everyday because his Mama packs his lunch. She even puts a little note in his box for him most of the time. I told him that he gets many things everyday that others don’t get, but he doesn’t recognize it because it’s normal to him.

Don’t we do the same thing? We walk in the blessings of God everyday so much that it often becomes normal. We walk in righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Ghost (Romans 14:17 KJV). We get to walk in newness of life(Romans 6:4). We get to have the fellowship of the Holy Spirit (2 Corinthians 13:14 NIV). We get to we walk in the light, as he is in the light, have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin (1 John 1:7). We have His Word that we can read everyday.

I could go on, but the point is that we have many blessings everyday that we forget about. Let’s count our blessings and when God drops an extra blessing, rejoice about it, but don’t forget that every day is a blessing.

Psalm 68:19 KJV Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah.
