We have a local car wash that has an attendant out front that will scrub down your car before you enter the car wash. He also will give you instructions. You can hear him loudly say “put it in neutral, hands off the wheel, foot off the brake.” He will then engage the track that moves your vehicle forward. As you enter the car wash, it’s loud and it’s shaking your car. You have low visibility, there is water and stuff coming from all different directions. It’s like a horrible storm. If you were to panic, throw your vehicle in drive and punch the gas or the brake. You would do an incredible amount of damage and possibly hurt yourself. On the other hand, if you just trust the process you’ll come out clean on the other side.
We should trust God’s process this way. God may be telling us, put it in neutral, hands off the wheel, foot off the brake. Just go through this process, trusting that God is with us and will keep us. Though things may get intense, and we feel like it’s about to come apart. Don’t panic. Simply ride it out, and you’ll come out clean on the other side.
Matthew 14:30-31 WEB 30 But when he saw that the wind was strong, he was afraid, and beginning to sink, he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!” 31 Immediately Jesus stretched out his hand, took hold of him, and said to him, “You of little faith, why did you doubt?”
