Have you ever been at home alone and suddenly you hear a noise? You get quiet and try to hone in on this noise. I’ve even been rocking in a chair and realized that the noise was coming from the chair that I was in. If there were other people in the house you’d probably pay less attention to the noise. Because we’re alone though we seem to hear every little noise. I’ve actually had my children be home alone and hear a noise and lock themselves in their room.
Sometimes we get alone in our heads and may hear something in a comment or situation that isn’t really anything, but we’re turning into something.
We need to be careful getting alone in our heads because we can create problems and issues out of noise. We can lock ourselves away from everything else because we hear something that isn’t really anything to worry about. Sometimes when we get another perspective we realize that what we heard wasn’t bad at all. Get a friend to help you get a better understanding of the situation. Don’t get trapped in your own thoughts in your head.
On top of that we should keep our minds focused on God. This will help our thoughts not get polluted with the noise that tries to invade our minds.
Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 NLT 9.Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. 10 If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble.
Isaiah 26:3 KJV Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
