My wife’s vehicle recently started having issues. It went from one thing to another and I could not figure out what was going on. Especially since it was not consistent, but sporadically causing problems. Finally it culminated in throwing a reduced engine power warning while we were driving it. As I tried to reach a safe place to pull over it continued to get slower and slower. After a few times of restarting, it started running alright except for some electrical stuff not working. Upon investigation it ended up being a cracked engine coolant temperature sensor. This small part was causing all types of issues. Once I discovered this, I could have listened to the guy where I bought the replacement part that told me that this wouldn’t cause all of these issues. He said it had to be something else. I could have decided that this was much too small to be causing all of these issues. Instead I replaced it and everything started running smoothly again.
Maybe God has shown you something in your life that needs to be dealt with. You may consider this thing small, maybe even insignificant. You may even have someone tell you that this isn’t a problem, that it’s all okay. What if it is the source of many of your problems? What if this is the thing that is affecting your connection with God? Because of this loose connection you develop more and more issues. Remember that it is the little foxes that spoil the vines (Song of Solomon 2:15 KJV). These little things can cut your source of life off from the true vine (John 15:1 KJV). These things can come between you and God if not dealt with.
Leaven was a type of sin in the Bible. Paul would write know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump? Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump (1 Corinthians 5:6-7 KJV). How do we do this? Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord (Acts 3:19 KJV).
If God has revealed something in your life that needs to be dealt with, don’t delay but deal with it. Repent and turn from all your sins so that sin won’t keep on being a stumbling block for you (Ezekiel 18:30 ISV).
Hebrews 12:1-2 WEB 1 Therefore let’s also, seeing we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let’s run with perseverance the race that is set before us, 2 looking to Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising its shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
James 4:17 KJV Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
