There’s Still Hope

I can see you praying now. Sitting in with the lights dimmed, tears running down your face. Asking God, where did I go wrong? Why won’t my children live for you? I tried so hard to raise them right. I brought them to church, I led them the right way. Yet they still insist on going their own way.

Have you ever read the discourse in John 7 with Jesus and his brothers? Look at verse 5 with me. Not even his brothers believed in him (John 7:5 ISV). Read that again, Jesus’s brothers didn’t believe in Him. That is mind blowing to me. I mean you have the greatest example, the actual way, truth and life, God incarnate Himself. Yet you still don’t believe! Later on they would come to believe in Him. His brothers James and Jude would go on to write two books of the Bible. History teaches that they both go on to be martyrs.

So with all that being said, you need to hear this loud and clear. You did good! Take that in for a second and breathe. You try to do the best you can and leave the rest to God. Quit beating yourself up, you’re not doing yourself or anybody else any good by doing that. Pray for them and love them, I cannot express those two things enough. And don’t give up!

Proverbs 22:6 KJV Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
