I was having a conversation with someone. We were talking about how when things get better in life, we tend to forget how good we have it after awhile. Be it having a better job, a better home, a better family situation. Whatever it is, it’s better than it was. We get used to how good it is and begin maybe even to take it for granted.
If you read through the Old Testament you’ll see a recurring thing happening. The children of Israel forgetting what God had done. They forget that He delivered them from slavery. They forget all the miracles, all the signs, all the provisions.
Now before you jump on a bandwagon and start casting stones. We do the same thing. Maybe we don’t go as far as they did, but we still forget. We forget that God delivered us. We forget all the times that He has provided. We forget the answered prayers. We get so focused on our current circumstances that we forget.
We forget that we are living the life that we prayed for. Sometimes we need a gentle reminder to take a step back and refocus. Let’s remember all that God has done for us and thank Him for it.
Psalm 103:2 KJV Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits.
