I was talking to a friend who was telling me about someone in his family that was going on a cruise. They made all the plans. They bought the tickets, they made the trip to get to where the cruise ship was to leave from. When they arrived though they weren’t allowed on the ship because their passport had expired. No amount of asking nor pleading was going to change this. They knew the rules and just thought they could get by with it.
We have a rule book that tells us how we can board the old ship of Zion. How we can make heaven. We must be diligent to prepare ourselves for this. We don’t want to miss heaven because we decided something wasn’t important. The Word says work out your own salvation with fear and trembling (Philippians 2:12 KJV). I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. If you’re working something out with fear and trembling it’s serious. Why fear and trembling? Because you don’t want to get it wrong. Each of us should study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15 KJV). We should apply the Word to our lives.
Make certain that you have prepared and are ready to meet Jesus.
Mark 1:15 KJV …The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
Matthew 24:44 KJV Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.
