I was having a conversation with a fella one day. He was telling me that he was a retired army ranger and that many things he did were classified. He said when visiting the VA for a checkup the Doctor asked him, “What did you do in the military?” He asked, “What do you mean?” The Doctor replied, “I have your entire chart here, but most of it is redacted.” He then replies, “I figure if the military wanted you to know what I did they wouldn’t have redacted it.” Another thing he told me was that he wasn’t allowed to talk about it. If he did he could be legally charged.
Do you know this is how our past is when we come to God and repent? Our sins are remitted. Wiped away as if we’d never done it. Jesus said that His blood was shed for many for the remission of sins (Matthew 26:28 KJV). As it says if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin (1 John 1:7 KJV).
So when the enemy, the accuser of the brethren arises and tries to bring it up he can’t. Because it’s redacted, it’s covered by the blood. We need not spend our time talking about it, feeling guilty over things we’ve been forgiven of. Because we can lock ourselves up in our own guilt by doing this. Instead when guilt tries to creep in we can vanquish it knowing that we are forgiven and our sins have been remitted.
If the sins of your past have haunted you. If you have never felt free from these sins. Then there is forgiveness waiting. You just need to repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost (Acts 2:38 KJV).
Don’t live another day with your past rising up against you. If you have been forgiven, live in the confidence of it. If you have not then repent and receive it now.
Acts 3:19 KJV Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;
