If you’ve ever watched a child learning to walk you’ve seen them fall. They may be nervous about getting back up and trying again, but they have to if they are ever going to learn to walk. As we get older we learn to walk better and we fall less. Sometimes though we do still fall. We may get tripped up or whatever, but we do fall sometimes. Falling is going to happen.
In the physical sense, it makes no sense for someone to fall and just stay on the ground. Even if it takes a few minutes, you get back up, you don’t just lay there until you die. You might even need help getting up, but you get back up.
In the spiritual realm, however, people fall and just stay down. It’s not natural to stay down in the physical and it shouldn’t be in the spiritual either. Don’t stay down, get back up. Even if you fall back down, get back up. Don’t lay there and die.
The Word says in Proverbs 24:16 ISV for though a righteous man falls seven times, he will rise again, but the wicked stumble into calamity.
You see falling does not make you evil, it makes you human. You just have to get back up. Even if you fall seven times, get back up. If you have something that you can’t seem to get over, that you keep getting tripped on. Get back up one more time than you fall. If it’s different things that trip you up and cause you to fall, get back up. Whatever you do, do not stay down, do not lay there and die spiritually. No, get back up and keep moving forward.
Jeremiah 8:4 ISV “You are to say to them, ‘This is what the LORD says: “Will a person fall down and then not get up? Will someone turn away and then not turn back again?
Micah 7:8 KJV Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me.
