I was having a discussion with some friends of mine that were telling me about a guy at their job that had done something to really offend them. I mean he was wrong, not just maybe but 100% wrong.
Sometimes we run into situations where God gives us the opportunity to be like Him. To share His attributes, such as forgiveness. He has forgiven us of so much, how can we not forgive others? You may say, “but they were wrong.” Of course they were, that’s why you have to forgive them. You don’t have to forgive those who haven’t wronged you. You though are presented with the opportunity to be Christ-like. That’s what we are supposed to be doing anyway right? We’re supposed to be like Jesus. We should be kind to one another, compassionate, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ also forgave you (Ephesians 4:32 NET).
Remember if someone who is not a Christian and you are in a disagreement, that you are the one that is supposed to reflect Jesus. The one who says he resides in God ought himself to walk just as Jesus walked (1 John 2:6 NET).
So try to see these challenges as opportunities to be like Christ. Or as James says consider it pure joy, my brothers, when you are involved in various trials (James 1:2 ISV). Remember this next time an opportunity knocks.
Philippians 2:5 NET You should have the same attitude toward one another that Christ Jesus had,

It is sometimes hard to do. However, the word tells us, for us to be forgiven, we must must forgive others! What A weight is lifted when we do!!!
Amen.
