Penguins have many unique qualities. Other than being cute and dressing in tuxedos all the time. They have some qualities that we can apply to our spiritual lives. I would like to look at some of these and compare them.
They are known for their unique communication skills. Penguins have distinct calls that help them find each other in large colonies.
We should talk differently than the world. We should be able to recognize a brother and sister in Christ by their speech.
Colossians 4:6 KJV Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.
They have great teamwork. Penguins work together to create passageways through the ice called “penguin highways.”
We should work together for the kingdom, never jealous of each other but after 1 common goal.
1 Corinthians 3:9 ISV For we are God’s co-workers…
Penguins are social birds
Penguins are known for their strong social bonds. They live in large colonies that can range from a few hundred to tens of thousands of birds.
We should not forsake the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching (Hebrews 10:25 KJV).
Penguins are great parents. Penguins are known for being devoted parents.
Ephesians 6:4 CEV
Parents, don’t be hard on your children. Raise them properly. Teach them and instruct them about the Lord.
They also dance. Penguins dance to express joy and love.
We should worship the Lord exuberantly.
Psalm 149:3 KJV Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp.
Penguins are also known for their ability to survive in harsh climates. Their thick layers of feathers and extra reserves of body fat provide excellent insulation. Penguins also produce oil via the preen gland, which they carefully spread over their feathers to insulate their bodies and improve their speed through the water.
The Holy Ghost is also symbolized by oil. God insulates us from the harsh climates that we live in daily. We can survive in harsh environments if we are insulated by God.
The Word says in Psalm 91:4 (KJV) He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust…
Ephesians 1:13 WEB In him you also, having heard the word of the truth, the Good News of your salvation; in whom, having also believed, you were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit.
You see we can learn things from God’s creation if we are looking. So pay attention and learn.
Job 12:7-9 NHEB 7 “But ask the animals, now, and they shall teach you; the birds of the sky, and they shall tell you. 8 Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach you. The fish of the sea shall declare to you. 9 Who doesn’t know that in all these, the hand of the LORD has done this,
