Recharge

How much battery life do you have on your phone? How often do you charge your phone? Most people I know charge their phones multiple times throughout the day. They keep chargers at work, in their vehicles, by their chairs and by their beds. This way they are never far from being able to charge their phones up, because if it loses charge it can’t do anything. We take great care to make sure that our phones are charged.

Jesus said without me ye can do nothing (John 15:5 KJV). Jesus is our source of power and strength. Shouldn’t we be more attentive to making sure that we are connected to our source of power? We cannot rely on a few church services a week to get our “charge.” We need to be constantly plugging into, or connecting with Jesus. We must fellowship with Him often, creating a continual connection. Do we keep our Bible’s close and if so are we plugging into it often? Are we at all times given to prayer (Romans 12:12 BBE). There is a famous quote from Smith Wigglesworth.

“I don’t often spend more than half an hour in prayer at one time, but I never go more than half an hour without praying. You have to bring your mind to the Word of God and not try to bring the Word of God to your mind.”

We cannot stay unplugged from our source. We must be purposeful about connecting with God throughout our day.

Acts 1:8 (KJV) But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you.

Isaiah 40:29-31 KJV 29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. 30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: 31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
