Unrecognized Provisions

There are things children don’t know or don’t understand. The fact that they have electricity, they have food, they have clothes, they have clean water, etc. You see it’s just normal to them to have these things. So they don’t understand that by parents providing these things it is part of taking care of them. They don’t understand that they should be thankful for the simple things in life, the things they often overlook.

We become the same way with God. God provides so much for us on a daily basis. Many of these things we overlook. I could probably spend all day listing things that we should be thankful for, but I can sum it up in one story.

A friend of mine had a near death experience. He said after being discharged from the hospital he was being wheeled out in a wheelchair. He said when he got outside and saw the sun that he thanked God for the sun. He said it was the first time that he had ever done that.

It says in Colossians 3:15 (KJV) And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

Let peace rule understanding that He is watching over you and be thankful. Remember this as you go through your day and thank God for the little things and understand that He is taking care of you even if you never recognize it.

1 Thessalonians 5:18 KJV

In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Matthew 6:26 NIV

Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?
