Constructive Feedback

I arrived at work once and went through my normal routine. I had my coffee and a morning crew meeting. As I left the meeting and walked into the locker room I saw in the mirror that I had pimples on the bridge of my nose. One of my coworkers walked in and I asked why he hadn’t told me about this. He said he hadn’t told me because he thought that I knew that they were there. I replied you thought I knew that they were there and I was just going to leave it that way. I told him in the future tell me if something needs my attention.

Most of us in the physical sense want someone to tell us if something is wrong. We don’t want to walk around with something wrong and embarrass ourselves. When it comes to the spiritual we should have the same mindset. We should always want to be told if we have something wrong spiritually so that we can remedy the issue. We do not want to be walking around with a blemish in our spirit.

We should say as the psalmist let the righteous [thoughtfully] strike (correct) me—it is a kindness [done to encourage my spiritual maturity]. It is [the choicest anointing] oil on the head; Let my head not refuse [to accept and acknowledge and learn from] it; For still my prayer is against their wicked deeds (Psalm 145:5 Amp).

For those bringing something to someone’s attention remember everything must be done in love. WE should also follow the instructions that we read in Galatians 6:1 (ISV) Brothers, if a person is caught doing something wrong, those of you who are spiritual should restore that person gently. Watch out for yourself so that you are not tempted as well.

So receive correction as a kindness from the one that gives it and give correction in love and kindness.

Hebrews 12:11 ISV No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, for those who have been trained by it, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace.
