I recently sent a package through the mail. Upon shipping it the clerk handed me a tracking number. After a few days I wondered if it had been delivered so I pulled up the tracking number to check it out. Not only had it not arrived, it had gone in the opposite direction that it was supposed to.
Sometimes God has something for us. Be it a promise from the Word of God or a personal promise to us. Sometimes these promises seem to be getting further away from us rather than closer to us. We may begin to wonder if it will ever arrive. Just because a promise from God is taking longer than expected does not mean that it is not going to happen. It may look further away than it was at first. This does not mean that the promise is leaving you, but rather that it is going through the process that it must go through in order to get to you.
We may not be able to track where our promise is, but we do have something to hold onto. We have the Word of God and faith. We can find verses to use as tracking numbers. They may not tell us the location, but they will reassure us that the promise is still coming. Remember that God is faithful and He keeps His promises. As I have heard said, when you can’t track God, trust God. So if you are waiting on a promise just keep holding on and trust God.
2 Corinthians 1:20 KJV For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.
Hebrews 10:23 KJV Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
