Keep It Simple

Have you ever seen geese fly in a V formation? Do you know why one line is longer than the other? Because there are more geese in that line. It’s a funny little joke, because the answer is so simple.

We often overcomplicate things trying to figure out a deeper meaning. There are many examples of this in the Word of God. One that people have struggled with for years is where did Cain get his wife. According to what I have read from Jewish history Nod is where Adam settled after leaving Eden. Also according to the same history Cain married one of his sisters. See it’s way more simple than it seems. How about there being giants after the flood. I’ve heard this disproves a world wide flood because the giants should have died in the flood. You know we do not know what recessive genes Noah’s daughter in laws had. How many times do we see someone born into a family that’s way taller than anyone else in the family? Somewhere down the family’s genetic line there was a gene that caused this. It’s just simple genetics.

Why is this important? So you don’t get tripped up when someone presents an argument to you that seems to refute the Bible or its validity. You may not have an answer to the question they present. This doesn’t mean they are right. If someone asks you if you’ve ever seen the Great Wall of China and you say no. Then they say well that’s because it doesn’t exist. This doesn’t make them right.

Remember it was the enemy in the garden that first put doubts in Eve’s mind by proposing questions that she couldn’t answer. So don’t fall for the same old trick.

Understand that God is omniscient (all knowing) and we are not. So we’re not going to have all the answers and that’s okay. It’s not what I don’t know about God that causes me to serve Him, it’s what I do know.
