I once had a set of craftsman power tools that consisted of a sawzall, circular saw, light and drill. Well, one day the battery pack quit working. When I went to replace them I found out that the style of battery and charger I needed weren’t carried anymore. So, I ended up just buying a new craftsman drill set with the charger. I took all the other tools and put them under my tool bench and kinda forgot about them. Four years later I was cleaning up in my shop and came across these tools. I begin to wonder if I ever even tried the new batteries on the old tools. I plugged the battery in one of the saws, and presto, it worked. I had an entire set of tools that I could have been using just sitting there that I thought were beyond use.
Some of us have tools that God has gifted us with that we could be utilizing. We may be working with part of our gift. Just like I was using part of my tool set, but not all of it. We may honestly think that we don’t have the capability to use this gift anymore. Do what I did with the tool set. Try again, you may just find that your gift is sitting there waiting to be used.
1 Peter 4:10 EasyEnglish God has been good to each of you in different ways. He has given a gift to each of you, so that you are able to do certain things well. So, each of you should use your gift so that you can help other people. Then you will be God’s good servants because you will be using his gifts properly.
