Hold Onto Hope

To follow the post from yesterday I would like to fill in the blanks for some of you. Some may be wondering how things turned out with my brother. God showed Himself present in the situation so our faith was high. We all expected the miraculous. The miraculous did happen, but not the way that we expected. He has been in a coma for some time and by the hand of God came out of the coma in transit to a closer facility. He could communicate some at this point.  We would eventually get him moved to a nursing facility very close to our home. My sister Carla during one of her visits led him through a prayer of repentance. Two weeks later he would pass away. Now some may see this and think how could this happen if God showed himself present like this? Why didn’t he just get better? How is this a miracle? God allowed my brother to live long enough and recover enough that he could get his soul right with God. That is nothing short of a miracle.

Why am I telling you all this? So you understand that just because things don’t work out like we think they should does not mean that God has abandoned us. It does not mean that we are forsaken and it does not mean that there is no hope. Remember that our hope is in Christ and not in this world, which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast… (Hebrews 6:19 KJV). As Paul would say If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable (1 Corinthians 15:19 KJV).

Obviously I’m not saying that every situation will turn out in ways like this. I’m just saying if they do, don’t lose hope.

We will see good things come here on this earth. We have to believe that. As the Psalmist said: I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD (Psalm 27:13-14 KJV).

We should trust in God and not fear the outcome because He says: Don’t be afraid, because I’m with you; don’t be anxious, because I am your God. I keep on strengthening you; I’m truly helping you. I’m surely upholding you with my victorious right hand (Isaiah 41:10 ISV) .” And also: I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11-13 TLB).

So let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise (Hebrews 10:23 NLT).

Romans 15:13 KJV Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

Romans 8:24-25 KJV 24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? 25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
